Primary 3/4 have been learning about lots of fun and interesting topics this year.
Here are just some of the experiences we’ve had.
In term one, our topic was weather. We learned all about the different types of weather and we learned to use some special weather instruments. We used an anemometer to measure wind speed, a rain gauge to measure wind fall and a thermometer to measure the temperature.
In term two, our topic was Ancient Egypt which we found really interesting. The Primary 3 children also took part in a nativity play called The Hoity Toity Angel with the Primary 1 and 2 classes. The Primary 4 children performed some wonderful Christmas songs with the upper stages. We loved acting, singing songs and playing percussion instruments!
This term, we are learning about space. This is a fascinating topic and we are enjoying learning about the planets in our solar system. We recently wrote exciting stories about aliens and we created our own aliens using potato printing.
On Shrove Tuesday, we went to the school kitchen and learned how to make pancakes. It was great fun!
